The 9 Trims of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Broken Down

The Chevy Silverado is such a wonderfully versatile pickup truck. Among its trims are nine vastly different personalities. Whether you are seeking a Chevy Silverado 1500 for sale for your work life, family life, off-road adventures, or even something else, you will find a trim that suits your unique needs and style. Because there are so many trims, we naturally see a lot of customers who don’t know where to begin their search. Below, we’ll give you an overview of the 2024 Silverado 1500’s nine trims to help guide you toward the right one.
Silverado 1500 WT
The WT stands for Work Truck, which gives you some indication of the practical, functional nature of this trim. It’s got all the basics you need for a terrific vehicle for construction or agricultural work.
The WT gets the standard TurboMax engine, kicking out 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and is available in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It has the standard Durabed, Chevy’s ultra-durable bed that resists scratches and dents. The WT also gets the Chevy Assist suite of driver assist features that act as your second set of eyes and ears on the road. It also has a rear vision camera for safer backup maneuvers.
Cabin features are minimalist. You get four-way manual driver and passenger seats, vinyl upholstery, and single-zone climate control. However, the truck has a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment center with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. The WT is a well-priced, basic work truck that is ready for long days on job sites.
Silverado 1500 Custom
The Custom adds several convenience features to the WT, including a stylistic touch or two. Instead of the WT’s 17-inch steel wheels, it gets a bump up to 20-inch alloy wheels. Body color front and rear bumpers, along with deep tinted glass, give it a slightly more impressive appearance.
On the convenience front, heated power outside mirrors will melt away ice and frost to improve visibility on cold mornings. Cargo bed LED lighting makes it easier to see your items in the truck bed. What the Custom is really known for is its Custom Convenience Package, which gets you a remote start function, along with a content theft alarm, rear window-defogger, and EZ Lift power lock and release tailgate.
You also get a standard Trailering Package with this trim, giving you accessories and add-ons to attach your trailer and command it better. On the comfort front, you get a 10-way power driver seat with lumbar support in the Custom. Plus, you get a boost from the WT’s vinyl seats to cloth seats.
Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss
If you find yourself on mud and dirt roads, you’ll enjoy this trim. It gets a two-inch factory suspension lift for added ground clearance. Plus, on top of the Z71 Suspension Package, it also has a two-speed transfer case, skid plates, and a locking rear differential to lock the rear wheels together for maximum traction.
The Custom Trail Boss rolls on Goodyear Wrangler mud-terrain tires, so it’s ready to keep you in command when the roads get messy. A raised hood with a black insert gives it a rugged look, and power-retractable assist steps make it easier for your friends, family, or coworkers to hop in and out. The Custom Trail Boss enjoys the Custom Convenience Package you get on the Custom trim, so you can see the resemblance here. It’s like the Custom trim but made for off-road environments.
Silverado 1500 LT
Now, onto the LT, which is a terrific value. It’s a nice mix of practical and luxurious, and you’ll see why. With an automatic locking rear differential, the LT can have both rear wheels turn at the same speed to reduce slippage. It’s a head-turner, too, with bright silver painted aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, and chrome mirror caps. High-intensity LED reflector headlamps improve visibility in low-light settings.
Moving inside, you’ll see where the luxury comes into play. You get a huge 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. Dual-zone automatic climate control puts your passenger in charge of their temperature. The driver and front seat passenger enjoy heated seats, and you, the driver, get a heated steering wheel (which happens to be leather-wrapped). If you need a work truck but want to treat yourself to some nice amenities, check out the LT.

Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss
Diving back into our off-road variants, we arrive at the LT Trail Boss. It combines the pizazz of the LT with the functionality of an off-roader. Like the Custom Trail Boss, it also gets a lift and the Z71 Suspension Package, as well as a two-speed transfer case, Goodyear mud-terrain tires, and an automatic locking rear differential.
The LT Trail Boss also has a stunning 13.4-inch color touchscreen display and a 12.3-inch enhanced multi-color configurable driver information center that lets you choose what journey and vehicle stats you see. You also get the Convenience Package off the LT trim, which adds goodies like a 10-way power driver seat, a heated steering wheel, remote start, and heated driver and front passenger seats.
Silverado 1500 RST
The RST is primarily about street style. It gets you a body-color center grille bar, body-color bumpers, and body-color door handles. It rolls on 18-inch bright silver wheels, but 20-inch high-gloss black wheels are available for a very urban appearance. An optional active exhaust with sport mode adds a more aggressive sound to your drive, making this full-size truck feel race-track-ready. If you want a pickup truck that’s fun to drive and will turn heads, check out the RST.
Silverado 1500 LTZ
The LTZ is like a pickup on the outside and a premium vehicle on the inside. Under the hood, you find a standard 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine, which is an upgrade from the TurboMax that comes standard in the lower trims. The focus of the LTZ is comfort, convenience, and technology. It has bucket seats in the front, boosting the comfort levels. Add to that the perforated leather-appointed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, power tilt and telescoping steering column, and spacious center console, and the cabin lends itself to relaxation. The LTZ impresses with tech, too, with wireless charging for your devices, additional USB ports, and a Bose premium audio system.
Silverado 1500 ZR2
The ZR2 is the most advanced off-road trim. It’s ready for avid off-roaders, with its exclusive Multimatic dampers for a smoother ride, front and rear locking differentials to maximize traction, off-road cut front bumper for a better approach angle, and underbody aluminum skid plates. It rolls on 33-inch mud-terrain tires and has a standard 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel or optional 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 under the hood for tons of power. With its Terrain and Off-Road drive modes, it’s ready for seriously rough trails.

Silverado 1500 High Country
We finally land at the High Country, the ultimate in luxury pickups. It enjoys massive infotainment and driver screens, leather seating surfaces, and stunning open-pore wood paneling for a look that’s rustic but elevated. It boasts all of the convenience features you saw among the other trims, like power retractable steps, wireless charging, and heated front seats. Plus, it has chrome recovery hooks, so it’s tough and beautiful.
With Chevy’s hands-free driver-assist feature, Super Cruise, it’s ready for long road trips. You’ll also enjoy some more advanced driver-assist features like Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and a Bed View Camera that lets you check on your bed’s contents. If you want to love being in your truck, consider the High Country.
